The Dad Course offers men expecting their first baby the opportunity to build the skills, knowledge, confidence and support to be the best parents they possibly can be in the first year of their child’s life.

Our courses are a relaxed and positive space where men can be totally honest about their upcoming journey into parenthood - nothing is off limits and no BS is allowed! Meeting in a pub in central Brighton, each week we’ll look at some essential practical skills you will need as a dad (e.g. nappy changing, feeding, clothing, bathing, burping baby and much more), take a look at an extra topic (e.g. thinking about the birth or looking after yourself as a dad) and have plenty of time to chat about fatherhood and take on an extra topic too. Each week you’ll go away with lots of practical knowledge having learned new things and by the end of the course you’ll be feeling as prepared to be a dad as you ever will! We also get some experienced dads along to talk about their experience as dads.

Whilst we definitely recommend attending an antenatal class (of which there are many excellent ones in Brighton and Hove) with your partner our course is designed to be a space just for men. We cover topics that antenatal classes don't and make space to be open and honest about what lies ahead with other guys in the same position as you. You can read in more detail across our website about the content of the course, find out about us and our story, or head to the book now page for course dates and to reserve your place now. Or if you want to learn a bit more about how and why the course was set up as well as what it seeks to achieve, in a bit more depth, then check out Dave's TEDx talk below.
